Vice Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong Meets and Works with the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology
On the morning of May 13, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Hoàng Minh Cường chaired a working session with a delegation from the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), led by Mr. Kang Tai Kyung, Vice President of the Institute, who visited Hai Phong to explore opportunities for cooperation and investment.
Welcoming the delegation, Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong introduced Hai Phong’s potential, strengths, and outstanding socio-economic achievements in recent years. He emphasized that Hai Phong aimed to become a modern, civilized, ecological, and livable industrial port city of regional stature. To achieve this goal, the city is continuing to promote industrial development associated with digital transformation, green transition, and innovation.
At the meeting, representatives of KICT expressed their appreciation for the warm reception from city leaders and introduced the institute’s main functions and roles in researching and developing national infrastructure technologies. The institute’s key areas of focus include disaster response, environmentally friendly land development, integrated construction technologies, and high-performance building materials.
KICT representatives also expressed their desire to establish extensive cooperation with Hai Phong in infrastructure development, construction technology, and especially smart city development.
Vice Chairman Hoàng Minh Cường stated that he hoped the meeting would open up further opportunities for information exchange and exploration of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. With its orientation toward becoming a modern, green, smart, and sustainable urban center, Hai Phong expects to strengthen cooperation with Korean research agencies, scientific institutes, and technology partners in order to access advanced solutions that can effectively support the city’s future development.
