Site clearance progress for Lao Cai - Ha Noi - Hai Phong railway project
Recognizing the importance of the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway project, one of Vietnam's key national infrastructure projects, the Hai Phong Transport Infrastructure Project Management Board has instructed contractors to step up efforts to resolve bottlenecks and accelerate construction of resettlement projects serving site clearance work for the railway.
More than 80% of the construction workload at the An Tho resettlement area has been completed by the contractor consortium. Work on the remaining items is being accelerated, with contractors making full use of favorable weather conditions to keep construction on schedule.
The contractors aim to complete the entire resettlement area in July, four months ahead of the contractual schedule.
To support site clearance for the railway project, the city has directed relevant agencies and units to expedite construction of 14 resettlement projects across nine resettlement areas, covering a total of about 60 hectares.
The projects are expected to cost about 1.237 trillion dong and provide resettlement housing for 1,749 households.
As part of its responsibilities in implementing the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway project, the Hai Phong People's Council, at its 23rd session for the 2021-2026 term, approved a contribution of 10.96 trillion dong from the city budget for site clearance work and the construction of the Nam Hai Phong-Nam Do Son branch line.
Under the plan, all resettlement projects are scheduled for completion this year.
