Hai Phong targets 25 million tourists by 2030
Hai Phong has identified tourism as a key economic sector and an important contributor to the city's gross regional domestic product (GRDP). Leveraging its rich and diverse natural and cultural tourism resources, as well as a range of tourism products of national and international significance, the city aims to welcome 25 million visitors by 2030 and generate around 5% of GRDP from tourism.
This summer, Ms. Dao Thi Hong Hanh from Hung Yen Province visited Cat Ba with her family and was impressed by the changes in the island's landscape, infrastructure and tourism service quality.
Hai Phong welcomed more than 6 million visitors in the first five months of this year, achieving 36.7% of its annual target, while tourism revenue rose 12.6% from a year earlier.
In recent years, the city has focused on infrastructure development and attracted a number of large-scale tourism projects, gradually establishing a portfolio of flagship tourism products, particularly in the high-end segment. The growing range of attractive tourism offerings has created favorable conditions for businesses to expand markets and attract more visitors.
Alongside product development, Hai Phong's tourism sector continues to strengthen regional linkages, develop distinctive tourism products and improve service quality, with a focus on sustainable growth. With advantages in tourism resources, infrastructure and human resources, Hai Phong is steadily reinforcing its position as an attractive destination while pursuing its goal of welcoming 25 million visitors by 2030.
