Cat Bi international airport cargo terminal nears completion
The Cat Bi International Airport cargo terminal has an annual handling capacity of 100,000 tons of cargo and supporting technical infrastructure, with potential expansion to 250,000 tons. It is expected to help improve trade connectivity, reduce transport costs and ensure infrastructure synchronization once operational.
At the project site, contractors are rushing to complete the connecting road to Bui Vien Street. The base layer and sidewalks have basically been completed, meeting conditions for asphalt paving.
At this time, the cargo terminal has been completed, ready for connection of the electricity and water systems from the technical building area for trial operation. The parking area and the traffic routes around the terminal have also completed the base layer, curbs, and sidewalk paving. Asphalt paving is expected to be completed before June 20th.
The technical building area, the last item to be handed over, is also being urgently constructed and is expected to be completed before June 30th. The overall progress of the project is currently estimated at 94%.
The Cat Bi International Airport cargo terminal project is invested by Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) and includes the construction of a cargo terminal and technical infrastructure system serving cargo storage and warehousing for domestic and international airlines.
