Improving quality of maritime education and training
Developing high-quality human resources for the marine economy has been identified as one of the key tasks in Vietnam's strategies for sustainable marine economic development.
To meet the growing requirements of the maritime sector, upgrading facilities at specialized training institutions is regarded as a key factor.
Vietnam Maritime University has recently received an engine room simulator system for training high-quality maritime human resources from NS United Kaiun Kaisha. The system is among the most advanced of its kind, capable of replicating real ship operation environments and integrating advanced engine technologies, including liquefied natural gas engines, dual-fuel engines and other technologies widely applied by global fleets.
Mr. Kazuma Yamanaka, President of NS United Kaiun Kaisha
In recent years, Vietnam Maritime University has effectively promoted international cooperation, expanded education and training programs, developed human resources and enhanced practical skills for students, lecturers and Vietnamese seafarers. The upgrading of the university's facilities will strengthen its training capacity, help students and trainees adapt to new technologies and meet international standards, while supporting the strategic objective of building Vietnam Maritime University into a national key institution for education and research serving the sustainable development of the marine economy by 2030, with a vision to 2045.
