The event was attended by Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, along with representatives of several central ministries and agencies, as well as a large number of residents and tourists.
At the event, delegates, businesses, and the participants were provided with legal knowledge on environmental protection, marine and island resource conservation, and biodiversity protection. Communication activities also aimed to raise public awareness on plastic waste reduction, marine ecosystem protection, and the prevention and combat of environmental crimes.
Representatives of more than 300 households involved in fishing in the area signed commitments to comply with environmental protection regulations, not to use banned fishing tools, and not to engage in destructive fishing practices.
The organizing committee also presented gifts to policy beneficiary families and disadvantaged students, and provided environmental sanitation equipment to the local authority.
Immediately after the launch ceremony, delegates, youth union members and local residents took part in tree planting, waste collection, environmental clean-up and mobile communications activities, helping spread the message of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.
