Developing Eco-tourism
With its natural, cultural and human resources, tourism has become one of the city's key economic sectors, making an important contribution to the local economy. One of the strategic directions pursued by Hai Phong's tourism industry is the development of eco-tourism.

In Thanh Ha, an ancestral lychee tree continues to tell the story of the origins of one of the region's best-known agricultural products. The ancestral lychee tree is considered the source of the lychee variety famous in this area for nearly two centuries. Amid the trend toward modern agriculture, ecological farming is increasingly viewed as an inevitable path towards sustainable development, balancing economic growth, environmental protection and community livelihoods. In addition to producing safe and high-quality products, the model also opens up opportunities to develop distinctive tourism products based on local landscapes, culture and visitor experiences.

Building on initial models, Hai Phong is seeking to develop larger-scale tourism products and connect unique destinations to create experience routes bearing the distinctive identity of the former Eastern region. Leveraging its agricultural resources, cultural heritage system and rural areas that still preserve many traditional features, the city is gradually developing seasonal experiential tourism products, contributing to diversifying its tourism products.
