This year, the city has set a target of total exports of USD 52 billion and imports of $41.6 billion. To achieve these targets, it is stepping up international economic integration efforts and strengthening support for and cooperation with exporters.

In July, the city’s exports were estimated at USD 5.5 billion, up 2.12% from June and 16.33% from a year earlier. In the first seven months of 2026, total exports were estimated at more than USD 32.986 billion, up 15% year on year, while imports reached more than USD 26.57 billion, up 18.6%.

The Department of Industry and Trade continued to step up international economic integration, contributing comments on dossiers and draft documents related to international integration, free trade zones and controlled testing of digital technology applications. It also successfully organized a thematic conference on the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), focusing on opportunities and challenges for businesses seeking access to the Halal market.

Trade defense measures continued to be monitored and updated, with businesses promptly informed about domestic and international trade defense cases.
