The program opened with the performance “Vietnamese Spirit.”

Running for 80 minutes, the program consisted of two chapters: “The Spirit of the Nation” and “The Epic of Our Era,” creating a continuous emotional journey from the years of struggle for national independence to the image of Vietnam today, confidently moving forward on its path of development.

“The Spirit of the Nation”

The first chapter brought audiences back to the heroic atmosphere of history through familiar songs such as “Vietnamese Spirit,” the medley “Call of the Youth – Rise Up – O Fatherland, We Have Heard,” “Viet Minh Flag,” “Song of Ho Chi Minh,” “Volunteer,” and “August 19.”

The combination of male and female choirs, dance groups, drums and dance troupes created large-scale, expressive performances that vividly recreated the passionate atmosphere of a defining period in the nation’s history.

The fervent spirit of the August Revolution was vividly portrayed through the song “Rise Up.”

Beyond recreating historical milestones, the performances in the first chapter conveyed profound values and emotions: patriotism, the spirit of dedication, solidarity, and the aspiration for independence and freedom shared by generations of Vietnamese people. Through music, lyrics and stage performance, the revolutionary spirit of August 1945 was brought to today’s audiences in an accessible and deeply moving way.

A large number of officials and local residents attended and enjoyed the program.

“The Epic of Our Era”

While the first chapter left a strong impression through the heroic sounds of history, “The Epic of Our Era” opened up a broader artistic space, connecting revolutionary traditions with images of Hai Phong and Vietnam in the new era.

A notable highlight was the Cheo performance “Hai Phong – United in Love,” featuring Meritorious Artist Hong Tuoi, artist Song Thuong, dancers from the Xu Dong Cheo Theater, and the theater’s traditional orchestra. This was also a distinctive feature of the program, as traditional Cheo art was incorporated into a contemporary stage production, helping highlight the cultural identity of the Xu Dong region.

The program continued with performances including “Youth Devoted to the Party,” “Proud Melodies,” “Graceful Vietnam” dance, “Writing the Next Chapter of Peace,” “Hai Phong in My Heart,” and “Vietnam Proudly Moves Toward the Future.”

The progression from love for the homeland and national pride to messages of peace and aspirations for the future allowed the program not only to reflect on the historical journey but also to convey positive values for the present and future.

In particular, the combination of musical performances, choral singing, dance and Cheo created a diverse range of artistic expression. The participation of artists, singers, performers and musicians from the Xu Dong Cheo Theater, together with dance troupes, contributed to a large-scale program that both showcased traditional artistic strengths and embraced modern stage production techniques.

The beauty of peace was also conveyed through music and stage performances.

“Proud Melodies” was more than an art program commemorating a historic event. It provided an opportunity for the values of the past to be carried forward through the emotions of today. Through music and theater, memories of the revolutionary autumn, patriotism, solidarity and the aspiration for peace were conveyed to audiences, particularly younger generations, helping nurture national pride and love for the homeland and country.

With substantial investment in content, artistic performance and stage production, the program contributed to enriching the cultural and spiritual life of the people while reaffirming the role of art in preserving and spreading historical, cultural and national values in contemporary life.
