Taking advantage of their administrative rights over Facebook groups with hundreds of thousands of members, these individuals posted negative information. In some cases, they did not even verify the accuracy of the information before pressuring business owners to sign "crisis management" contracts, thereby committing acts of extortion.

According to statistics, since 2025, the city police have detected and sanctioned more than 50 cases of people posting false information on social media, while coordinating the removal of hundreds of negative and unverified posts. In addition, social media has recently seen a continuous stream of cases involving celebrities and influencers advertising and selling counterfeit, imitation, and low-quality products, causing losses to consumers.

Since July 1 this year, the Law on E-Commerce has officially taken effect. At the same time, the amended Law on Advertising has stipulated the responsibilities of individuals who convey advertising content, including influencers on cyberspace such as KOLs. In Hai Phong, the Digital Trust Club has been established with the aim of bringing together individuals and organizations who share the aspiration to spread positive information and raise community awareness of digital safety.
