By December 31, 2025, the total cumulative number of Viettel 5G stations nationwide is expected to reach 30,000, covering up to 90% of outdoor areas across the country. With this new deployment, Viettel now owns the largest 5G network in Vietnam. At the beginning of 2025, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 193/2025 on piloting certain special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. According to the guidance in Government Decree No. 88/2025, the state will support enterprises in deploying nationwide 5G infrastructure if they achieve a minimum of 20,000 5G base stations that are accepted and put into operation from February 19 to December 31, 2025. This special policy aims to create a breakthrough in national digital transformation, achieve advanced and modern digital technology infrastructure, and provide nationwide 5G coverage by 2030.
