Vibrant Gala Night “Peaceful Homeland – Brilliant Hai Phong”
On the evening of May 14, at the Central Political–Administrative Square in the Bac Song Cam Urban Area, Hai Phong City Police organized a special art gala themed “Peaceful Homeland – Brilliant Hai Phong.”

The event was part of a series of activities celebrating the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 – May 13, 2026), the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026, and the occasion of Hai Phong City Police receiving the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.

The program was attended by Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, and Deputy Minister of Public Security; Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee, and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation; Đo Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee.

Also attending were members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the City Party Committee; leaders of the People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; representatives of the city’s National Assembly Delegation; leaders of various professional departments under the Ministry of Public Security and police departments from other provinces and cities; representatives from departments, agencies, and mass organizations; along with nearly 5,000 police officers, soldiers, students, and local residents.

The gala featured many famous artists, singers, and performers, and was staged on a grand scale with elaborate production. The artistic program was divided into three coherent chapters, vividly portraying the formation, development, and significant contributions of Hai Phong Police.

Chapter I: “Hai Phong – Our Resilient Homeland”

This chapter took audiences back in time to the early days of resistance wars, when the port city stood on the frontlines. Through musical and dance performances rich in local identity, the indomitable and loyal spirit of Hai Phong’s people under the Party’s leadership was vividly portrayed, laying the foundation for today’s peace and stability.

Chapter II: “Hai Phong Police – Heroic People’s Armed Forces”

This chapter highlighted the image of Hai Phong police officers throughout different historical periods. They were portrayed as exemplary citizens who “forgot themselves for the nation and served the people,” enduring hardships and sacrificing for independence, freedom, and public peace. Valuable documentary footage combined with heroic songs conveyed the spirit of being “Most Disciplined – Most Loyal – Closest to the People,” which characterizes the city’s police force.

Chapter III: “For the Peace of the Homeland”

The final chapter looked toward the future. In the era of integration and development, police responsibilities are becoming increasingly demanding due to challenges such as cybercrime, hostile forces, and complicated online threats. However, with innovation, creativity, and public support, Hai Phong Police are determined to build a strong people-based security system and maintain the city’s brilliance and sustainable development.

One of the highlights of the gala was a series of carefully produced reports and videos such as “Symbols of Hai Phong,” “Hai Phong at the Frontline,” “Police Capturing Spies and Commandos,” “The Legend of H88,” and “Achievements Amid New Challenges.” These works recreated the city’s glorious history, heroic achievements, and the major contributions of the police force in safeguarding national security and maintaining social peace.

The gala also incorporated comedy exchanges between comedians and the audience through humorous situations aimed at raising awareness about cybercrime prevention and online scams, thereby improving legal awareness among the public.

On this occasion, Hai Phong Police launched a video clip creation contest themed “Peaceful Homeland.” This practical activity implements Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, emphasizing innovation in moral, legal, national defense, and security education for young people. The contest is jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training and targets Vietnamese students both at home and abroad.

Speaking at the event, Major General Bui Quang Binh, Director of Hai Phong City Police, officially launched the contest campaign.

In his congratulatory speech, Lieutenant General Lê Quốc Hùng praised Hai Phong Police for being honored with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” and commended the achievements and victories earned by the city’s police officers over the past 80 years.

He emphasized that in today’s era of information explosion, the contest encouraged young people to recognize and prevent crime, especially high-tech fraud and harmful online content. Through digital content creation, young people can become active contributors on the communication front, helping protect the Party’s ideological foundation and counter false and hostile viewpoints.

He stressed that in the new era, it is necessary to build a people-based security system not only in the real world but also in cyberspace. This requires close coordination between the police and the public, with young people playing a pioneering role. Every student should recognize both the pride and responsibility of being an active participant in protecting national peace and security.

Nurturing creative young individuals and groups capable of spreading positive values will help build a civilized and safe online environment, contributing to the successful implementation of the 14th National Party Congress’s goals on national security and national defense strategies in the new situation.

The contest aims to spread positive images and humanistic stories about the silent dedication of People’s Public Security officers who “sacrifice themselves for the country and serve the people,” while embodying the spirit of being “Most Disciplined – Most Loyal – Closest to the People.” It also seeks to raise public vigilance against crime, especially cyber fraud and harmful online information.

Furthermore, the contest serves as a platform for young people to share perspectives on building a safe and healthy society, encouraging the creation of positive digital content, promoting the good image of the People’s Public Security force, and proposing solutions to help protect peace and stability in society.
