Sun Phu Quoc airways to launch two new routes from Hai Phong starting July 25, 2026
On the afternoon of July 13, 2026, under the direction of the Hai Phong People's Committee, the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with Sun Phu Quoc Airways Co., Ltd. held a conference to introduce the airline's new routes from Hai Phong.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Đo Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways' two new routes—Hai Phong–Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong–Phu Quoc—marks an important milestone for the city. While the Hai Phong–Ho Chi Minh City route will strengthen connectivity between Vietnam's two major economic hubs in the north and south, the Hai Phong–Phu Quoc route will establish a direct link between two of the country's leading coastal tourism destinations, helping boost two-way tourism and promote regional tourism development.
Mr. Binh noted that Sun Phu Quoc Airways' decision to expand its network to Hai Phong reflects not only the city's growing attractiveness and strategic position but also the airline's confidence in Hai Phong's tourism, trade, and investment potential in the years ahead.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism highly appreciated the airline's commitment to expanding its route network, improving service quality, and pursuing international five-star standards. These efforts, it said, will support the city's strategy to enhance transport infrastructure, strengthen regional connectivity, and promote tourism.
The department also expressed its hope that the new routes would encourage travel agencies and tourism businesses to develop attractive travel products and tour packages, effectively tapping the two-way tourism market between Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc. This is expected to diversify the city's tourism markets and contribute to achieving Hai Phong's targets of welcoming 16.3 million visitors in 2026 and 25 million visitors by 2030, as set out in the Resolution of the First Hai Phong City Party Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
At the conference, Mr. La Vinh Nam, representing Sun Phu Quoc Airways, introduced the airline and its development plans.
The two new routes are scheduled to commence operations on July 25, 2026, with one daily flight on each route. These will be the airline's first services from Hai Phong, making Cat Bi International Airport the seventh domestic destination in Sun Phu Quoc Airways' network, following Phu Quoc, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Van Don.
The Ho Chi Minh City–Hai Phong flight will depart Ho Chi Minh City at 7:05 a.m. and arrive in Hai Phong at 9:10 a.m. The return flight will depart Hai Phong at 3:50 p.m. and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 6:00 p.m.
Hai Phong–Phu Quoc flight will depart Hai Phong at 10:00 a.m. and arrive in Phu Quoc at 12:05 p.m. The return service will leave Phu Quoc at 12:55 p.m. and land in Hai Phong at 3:00 p.m.
To celebrate the launch, Sun Phu Quoc Airways is offering a 30% discount on base fares for the Hai Phong–Phu Quoc route for bookings made for two or more passengers through the airline's website or mobile application. The promotion applies to travel between July 25 and October 24, 2026, excluding peak and special peak travel periods.
The airline is also offering a 25% discount on base fares for the same route when tickets are purchased through Sun PhuQuoc Airways' authorized travel agents during the same travel period, subject to the same blackout dates.
Since ticket sales began, the airline has recorded more than 5,000 bookings on its Hai Phong routes. Flight occupancy rates have continued to rise, reflecting strong market demand and the growing need for air connectivity between Hai Phong and the country's key economic and tourism centers.
