Hai Phong tax sector removes bottlenecks for business
Following directions from the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Department, Hai Phong's tax authority is stepping up a campaign to clean up tax identification numbers and remove bottlenecks for businesses. The initiative aims to standardize taxpayer data, improve tax administration and create a more transparent investment and business environment.

Enterprise Management and Support Division No. 2 of the Hai Phong Tax Department currently oversees more than 1,800 businesses, including more than 650 enterprises that need to undergo review and verification under the campaign.
As required by the Tax Department, local tax authorities are mobilizing all available resources, particularly inspection teams, while strengthening coordination with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities throughout the campaign.
A key task is to publish the list of businesses that have ceased operations but have not completed procedures to terminate the validity of their tax identification numbers, as well as businesses no longer operating at their registered addresses, in accordance with Article 4 of Government Decree No. 252.
The campaign aims to review and handle businesses that have stopped operating in practice but have yet to complete procedures to terminate the validity of their tax identification numbers. It also seeks to ensure taxpayer data are accurate, prevent tax evasion and address businesses that have abandoned their registered addresses, which can lead to budget revenue losses and pose risks to the business environment.
