Since the revolutionary autumn, the historic autumn, the autumn of independence in 1945, Hai Phong city has steadfastly overcome the most difficult periods in the cause of the national protection and construction. From the young Party organizations, Hai Phong City Party Committee and the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee have tirelessly grown, leading the people to overcome all difficulties and challenges to together with the country win the great victory of the nation. After the merger, the new Hai Phong City not only expanded its boundaries but also received more cultural values and potentials from the old Hai Duong province. The new city has strongly developed infrastructure and taken the lead in institutional reform in an effort of building smart and sustainable urban areas. It not only plays the role of "economic locomotive" of the North, but also leads the transformation in the new period.
