Tree-planting festival launched to welcome spring 2026
On the morning of February 23, in response to the “Tree-Planting Festival” initiated by President Ho Chi Minh, Hai Phong simultaneously held a ceremony to launch the Tree-Planting Festival for the Spring of 2026.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong Party Committee and Head of the city’s National Assembly delegation Le Tien Chau attended the ceremony in Do Son Ward. Also present were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Do Manh Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Council Le Van Hieu along with members of the Standing Committee of Hai Phong City Party Committee and Vice Chairpersons of the City People’s Council and People’s Committee. On this occasion, Do Son Ward planted 368 trees at Hill 66.
In Tran Hung Dao Ward, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee Le Ngoc Chau attended the tree planting festival. Joining him was Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Pham Van Lap. During the Spring 2026 Tree-Planting Festival, Tran Hung Dao Ward planted nearly 400 pine trees around Con Son Lake, part of the Con Son – Kiep Bac World Cultural Heritage Complex, contributing to landscape enhancement, environmental protection and the expansion of green space within the heritage site.
Tree planting at the beginning of the Lunar New Year helps raise public awareness and responsibility for environmental protection, while promoting the development of a “bright, green, clean and beautiful” urban environment, joining hands to build the heroic Port City and the culturally rich eastern region as it confidently enter a new era of national rise.
