Special art program “Hai Phong – The Sound of Return”: an emotional reunion of the city’s people
(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the evening of April 25, at the Hoa Phuong Theater, City Convention and Performance Center, the special art program “Hai Phong – The Sound of Return” took place. The program is part of a series of activities celebrating the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong’s Liberation Day and the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026.

Attending and enjoying the program were: Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee; Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee; representatives of departments, agencies, and related units; along with more than 1,500 art lovers from both inside and outside the city.
The special art program “Hai Phong – The Sound of Return” was organized by the Hai Phong Contemporary Arts Theater in collaboration with Shinning Media Event Company. The show featured artists who are originally from Hai Phong and have made their mark in the music scene, including well-known singers such as Thu Phuong, Duy Manh, Vicky Nhung, Phuong Vu, along with the lyrical singer Nguyen Dinh Tuan Dung, and support from Binh Van Band.
Each artist brought a unique musical style, yet they all share a common origin—Hai Phong. Together, they performed songs associated with their artistic journeys and the memories of many generations of audiences, such as: “Mot thu yeu nguoi,” “Em say roi,” “Khong muon mot minh,” “Xin loi, em yeu anh” (Vietnamese version of the Korean drama OST “Sorry, I Love You”), “Goi nhau la ky uc tuoi dep,” “Nhung ke mong mo,” “Neu em duoc lua chon,” “Tinh em la dai duong,” “Anh nho em vo cung.”
Notably, the program also included songs such as “Hai Phong oi,” “Nguoi yeu oi co biet anh nho em nhieu lam,” “Bao gio biet tuong tu,” “Chot nhu nam 18,” “Co gai den tu hom qua,” “Phep mau va 50 nam ve sau,” and “Di de tro ve.”
In addition to famous stars, the program featured enthusiastic young artists and performers from the Hai Phong Contemporary Arts Theater. The combination of generations created a continuous artistic flow, reflecting the spirit of creativity and breakthrough of Hai Phong people.
The program concluded with an impressive finale, bringing all artists together on stage to perform “Ben cang que huong toi,” praising their hometown city and creating an emotional climax. The melodies served not only as a tribute but also as a message of connection, of returning and continuing the journey, helping to spread pride in the port city.
At the event, Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, presented flowers to the artists.
