The Artistic Program “Sea Aspirations” (The Love Story of the Sea) to Premiere for Audiences at 8:00 PM on July 4
On the afternoon of July 3, at the Hai Phong Contemporary Art Theater (117 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Hong Bang Ward), the City Artistic Council held an appraisal session for the artistic program “Sea Aspirations” (The Love Story of the Sea).

The program is produced under the content direction of the Hai Phong Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee; directed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; and organized by the Hai Phong Contemporary Art Theater. During the appraisal session, members of the City Artistic Council provided comments and recommendations to help the production team finalize the program before recording and broadcasting it for audiences at 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 4, 2026, on the channels THP, THP+, FM93, and 7MH2 of Hai Phong Newspaper and Radio & Television.
The program consists of three parts. The opening segment, titled “From the Seaport to the Open Sea,” features songs about the sea, carrying the salty flavor of waves and ocean waters, including “Sunrise Over the Sea” (composed by Ho Trong Tuan), “Hai Phong – Where We Love Each Other” (composed by Le Trung Kien), “Hai Phong and the Longing” (composed by Xuan Binh), “The Waves Tell Their Stories” (composed by Duc Hoai), “Sea Aspirations” (composed by Son Thach), and “Beloved Hai Phong” (composed by Nguyen Thi Phuong and Tran Ai Nghia).
The second part, titled “The Love Story of the Sea,” presents gentle and romantic love songs about the sea, filled with deep emotions and reflections on love, including “The Sea, Longing and You” (composed by Phu Quang), “Lulling You to Sleep with the Sound of Waves” (composed by Duong Thu), the mashup “Where Do the Waves Go” and “The Remembering Sea” (composed by Trinh Cong Son), “The Love Story of the Sea” (composed by Thanh Tung), “The Sea and the Moonlight” (composed by Duong Cam), and “The Afternoon Sea” (composed by Tuan Phuong).
The final part, titled “Hai Phong – Aspirations to Shine,” features vibrant and energetic performances that express the city’s vitality, ambition, youthfulness, and brilliance, including “Hai Phong – Shining Arms Embrace” (composed by Huy Tuan), “My Father’s Hai Phong, My Hai Phong” (composed by Luu Ha An), “Hai Phong Spreads Its Wings” (composed by Phuc Bo), and “Hai Phong Shines” (composed by Viet Tuan).
Today, Hai Phong is known not only as the largest port city in Northern Vietnam and the country’s gateway to the sea, but also as a dynamic growth hub and a modern urban center making comprehensive breakthroughs across various fields, including the economy, industry, logistics, tourism, culture, and urban life. From ever-busy ports and modern industrial zones to bridges extending aspirations toward the future, the city reflects the youthful, vibrant rhythm of a place that is steadily reaching out to the world.
The program uses music as a language that connects emotions — where each melody not only tells stories of the sea but also conveys the spirit, soul, and aspirations of an entire city. Through music, audiences will experience the proud and generous character of Hai Phong’s people, feel the city’s dynamic transformation every day, and, above all, share the strong confidence in the future of a young urban center that is like a ship sailing toward the vast ocean.
The program is also a profound tribute to “Xu Dong – the Land of Civilization,” a region rich in distinctive historical, cultural, and artistic values. It honors the enduring legacy of the heroic spirit of the Dong A era of the people and army of Dai Viet, the radiant values of Truc Lam Zen Buddhism, and the humanitarian philosophy and people-centered ideals of world cultural figure Nguyen Trai — all of which have been preserved through generations and become the foundation for music that enriches the spiritual life of the people.
Therefore, the program is not merely an artistic evening, but also a message about the stature, position, and development aspirations of Hai Phong today — a city advancing strongly toward the open sea through the inner strength of its identity and cultural depth, fueled by youth, confidence, and an enduring desire to reach further.
