Industrial park infrastructure drives foreign- invested growth
Alongside efforts to attract investment, Hai Phong has continued to prioritize the development of industrial park infrastructure. In the first six months of the year, construction of industrial park infrastructure was estimated at more than VND 20 trillion, reaching 42.2% of the annual target. Accelerating infrastructure development across industrial parks is expected to support the growth of the city's foreign-invested sector.
The Phase 2 infrastructure investment and development project at Nomura - Hai Phong Industrial Park is located in Hong An Ward. Covering more than 197 hectares, the project is being developed by Hai Phong International Industrial Park Joint Stock Company.
Since construction began in late March, the company has worked with the Hong An Ward People's Committee to clear 120 hectares of land, equivalent to 62.4% of the project area. Land lease decisions have been issued for 34.5 hectares, while work on technical infrastructure is progressing steadily.
In the first six months of the year, construction got under way on eight industrial parks covering a combined 2,047.6 hectares, with total investment of about VND 33.526 trillion. On June 26, work also began on a service facilities project within the expanded Dai An Industrial Park in Tu Minh Ward. The 4.28-hectare project, which will provide accommodation for workers and experts, has a total investment of about VND 1.1 trillion.
The Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority has been working closely with relevant agencies, local authorities and industrial park developers to monitor land clearance and speed up infrastructure construction across the city's industrial parks.
