City delegation pays tribute to fallen soldiers in central region
On the occasion of the 79th Anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947–July 27, 2026), a delegation from the Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong city, led by Mr. Le Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee and Head of Hai Phong’s National Assembly delegation offered incense and flowers in tribute to fallen heroes at the martyrs’ cemeteries in the central region.
This morning, Haiphong Party Committee Secretary Le Ngoc Chau and members of the city delegation visited the Quang Tri Citadel, a special national relic that witnessed 81 days and nights of heroic, resilient fighting by our troops and people during the fiery summer of 1972. Also this morning, within the grounds of the Road 9 National Martyrs’ Cemetery, the city Party Committee Secretary Le Ngoc Chau and the delegation respectfully offered incense to commemorate the great President Ho Chi Minh. Before his spirit, the delegation expressed deep gratitude and pledged to continue fostering revolutionary tradition and solidarity while striving to build Hai Phong into an increasingly developed, civilized and modern city.
The city’s delegation also laid wreaths and offered incense at the memorial, the the graves of Hai Phong martyrs and Hai Hung martyrs, expressing profound appreciation for the hometown’s sons and daughters who sacrificed their youth for the nation’s independence and freedom. Each incense stick lit represented the Party, authorities and people of the city’s gratitude to those who laid down their lives for the fatherland./.
