City vice chairman receives France's economic counsellor
On the morning of July 16, Hai Phong People’s Committee Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong received a delegation from the Embassy of the French Republic led by Mr. Jean–Alexandre Egea, Economic Counsellor and Head of the Economic Office at the French Embassy on the working visit to Hai Phong.

At the meeting, Hai Phong People’s Committee Vice Chairman Hoang Minh Cuong emphasized that the visit took place as Vietnam–France relations continue to deepen after both countries upgraded ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in October 2024, opening many opportunities to boost cooperation between Hai Phong and French localities and businesses. The vice chairman highlighted Hai Phong’s notable advantages following its merger with Hai Duong Province: becoming the country’s third-largest economy, sustaining double-digit growth for 11 consecutive years, and possessing a modern, integrated transport infrastructure, economic zones, industrial parks and seaports.
Praising Hai Phong’s investment environment and development potential, Mr. Jean–Alexandre Egea expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation with the city in infrastructure, transport, ports, logistics, rare minerals, science and technology, and digital transformation. He affirmed that after this visit the delegation would actively connect and introduce French enterprises to investment opportunities in Hai Phong, promote preservation of French architectural works in the city, and enhance local-level cooperation between the two sides./.
