In the first five months of this year, the city's total import–export volume reached approximately USD 40 billion, up more than 15% compared to the same period last year. Export value alone reached about USD 22 billion, surpassing the growth target. With the current growth pace, coupled with advantages from the largest port system in northern Vietnam, an increasingly modern logistics network, and a continuously improved investment and business environment, Hai Phong is further consolidating its position as an industrial, commercial, and logistics hub of the northern coastal region. The city aims to achieve nearly USD 28 billion in exports in the second half of the year and strives for approximately USD 52 billion for the full year.
The positive import–export results in the early months of the year provide an important foundation for the city to pursue its economic growth targets this year, closely aligning with and focusing on implementing the city's 2026 theme: "Proactive implementation; mobilizing driving forces; breakthrough growth."
