Hai Phong launches series of activities for Red Flamboyant festival 2026
To mark the 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day, on Thursday evening the Organizing Committee of the Red Flamboyant Festival – Hai Phong 2026 launched a series of activities at the central flower garden area and the City Opera House.

The event was attended by Le Ngoc Chau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and head of the city’s National Assembly delegation; Do Manh Hien, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee; Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, head of the festival organizing committee; Le Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Council; Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, along with members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairpersons of the People’s Council and People’s Committee, leaders of departments, sectors, localities and units, as well as a large number of residents and visitors.
In his opening remarks, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Le Trung Kien emphasized that through this event, Hai Phong is gradually affirming its position as a livable city and an attractive, safe and friendly destination for domestic and international tourists. The city identifies improving people’s quality of life as a key goal of its administration; gradually realizing the objective of making culture a driver of economic development; and strengthening the connection and consensus between authorities and the community in preserving and promoting cultural heritage values. The series of activities at the central area is designed as a diverse experiential journey, presenting a vivid picture of Hai Phong where traditional values blend with modern integration. At the “Past and Present” culinary space, residents and visitors not only experience 18 booths featuring dishes that have created the culinary cultural brand of the Port City, but also enjoy diverse cultural experiences from countries on the global culinary map and key investment partners of Hai Phong such as South Korea, China and Japan.
