Construction accelerated on Van Uc 2 bridge project
Construction is progressing on the Van Uc 2 Bridge, a key component of the Ninh Binh-Hai Phong Expressway project running through Hai Phong and a 9-km section in Hung Yen Province, as contractors are working to keep the project on schedule.

The bridge project has a total investment of more than VND2 trillion, funded by the central and municipal budgets. The new prestressed reinforced concrete bridge will be 22.75 meters wide and more than 2.2 km long, running parallel to the existing Van Uc Bridge and linking Kien Hai and Hung Thang communes. To meet the 23-month contract schedule, the contractor consortium has mobilized maximum manpower and equipment and has maintained continuous construction since groundbreaking.

Given the bridge's prestressed reinforced concrete structure, the project requires a high level of technical precision. The project management board, contractor consortium and supervising consultants conduct regular inspections and promptly address technical issues to ensure construction quality. Work completed to date is valued at an estimated VND 30.5 billion. Funding has been fully allocated, ensuring smooth land clearance and construction.

Once completed in 2028, the bridge will help complete a strategic transport corridor in the Red River Delta, strengthen connectivity between Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces, ease congestion on existing national highways, and create new opportunities for industrial, logistics, service and coastal tourism development.
