Building Hai Phong into a modern international logistic center
Hai Phong City is cooperating with the Institute for Policy and Strategy Research (Central Policy and Strategy Committee) to develop the project “Building and developing Hai Phong City into a modern international logistics center, linked to international seaports, economic corridors and belts”, looking for practical and feasible outcomes in the near future.

After several rounds of consultation with ministries, local departments, units and businesses, the Department of Industry and Trade continues to seek opinions on the report at a workshop. Many ideas from experts, managers and relevant agencies have clarified development thinking and orientation, specific mechanisms and policies, as well as approaches to attract major shipping lines and connect large enterprises in the logistics value chain serving the industrial ecosystem in the city.
The draft proposal has five parts, including: assessment of necessity, socio-economic overview and current logistics development status in Hai Phong, international experience and lessons learned, development context, viewpoints, orientations and solutions, and policy mechanisms and implementation.
Dr. Bui Ba Nghiem – Senior Specialist, Import-Export Department, Ministry of Industry and Trade
After extensive consultation, the Department of Industry and Trade will lead finalization of the proposal, ensuring progress for submission to the Government in June this year.
