Exhibition Hai Phong Buddhist heritage documents
An exhibition titled “Heritage Documents of Hai Phong Buddhism” has opened at the headquarters of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hai Phong, attracting experts, researchers, Buddhists and local residents.
The exhibition is part of the national scientific conference marking “45 Years of Hai Phong Buddhism Developing Alongside the Nation (1981-2026)”, in preparation for the 2026-2031 Hai Phong Buddhist Congress, the 10th National Buddhist Congress and the Vesak celebrations in 2026.
The exhibition aims to review the development journey of Hai Phong Buddhism while promoting the preservation of the city’s Buddhist heritage values. Displayed materials include overseas archival collections, woodblock Buddhist scriptures, research publications on Buddhism and photo collections documenting the formation and development of Buddhism in Hai Phong.
Organizers said the exhibition aims to raise public awareness of Buddhist heritage values and encourage preservation efforts in contemporary life.
The exhibition is the result of joint research and collection efforts between the Hai Phong chapter of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with support from domestic and international experts, researchers and collectors.
