Implementation of Legal Policies on Environmental Protection and Climate Change Response
On September 7th, the supervisory team of the Standing Board of Hai Phong City’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee supervised the implementation of legal policies on environmental protection and climate change response at Vicem Haiphong Cement Ltd. Co.
The supervisory team highly appreciated Vicem’s efforts in protecting the environment and combating climate change with specific solutions and suggested the company to continue to strengthen environmental control in the mining area to minimize occupational diseases for workers. To implement legal policies on environmental protection and climate change response in the production process, Vicem Haiphong Cement Company has actively controlled CO2 emissions, used fly ash to replace cement from 3-5% to reduce clinker consumption norms, optimized operating power, and reduced heat consumption. Besides, the company has also strengthened research on the use of alternative biofuels for clinker production and conducted projects to generate electricity from waste heat./.
