Hai Phong welcomes the New Year 2026 with special art Program “A Thousand Years of Essence – Reaching the Era”
Joining the nationwide festive atmosphere welcoming the New Year 2026, on the evening of December 31, a special art program themed “A Thousand Years of Essence – Reaching the Era” was held at the City Theatre Square in Hai Phong.

Attending the program were Comrade Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Comrade Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; along with leaders of the Municipal Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Phong City; representatives of other departments, agencies, sectors, and a large number of local residents and visitors from inside and outside the city.
The art program not only brought the vibrant spirit of the new spring season and created a joyful atmosphere for residents and visitors, but also contributed to promoting the image of Hai Phong’s land and people, highlighting the city’s outstanding achievements in 2025. Simultaneously, it inspired confidence and pride, encouraging the entire Party organization, government, armed forces, and people of the city to strive to successfully fulfill the socio-economic development goals for 2026, toward building Hai Phong into a more civilized, modern, and sustainably developing city.
Carefully staged, the program harmoniously combined music, dance, fashion, performance art, and modern stage technology, creating a deeply emotional and artistic space. The three chapters — “Epic of the Land at the Frontline of the Waves,” “Spring Colors of the Port City,” and “Reaching the Era” — were closely structured as a journey through the past, present, and future of the Port City.
A highlight of the program was the ao dai performance, where the traditional beauty of Vietnam’s national dress was honored within the dynamic rhythm of urban life, reflecting a harmonious fusion between thousand-year-old cultural heritage and contemporary spirit.
The program was directed by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and implemented by the Center for Culture, Cinema, and Exhibitions. Through lively melodies and grand, emotional performances, it evoked familiar images of the people of Hai Phong. Each lyric and melody served as a tribute to the homeland — a proud and resilient Hai Phong deeply rooted in the hearts of its people.

More than a meaningful cultural gift for residents and visitors at the moment of the New Year’s transition, the program also helped spread the image of a dynamic, creative Hai Phong that is rich in cultural identity and ready for breakthroughs in the new year.
The event concluded with a spectacular fireworks display welcoming the New Year 2026. The program created a joyful and uplifting atmosphere, inspiring enthusiasm for labor, production, and national development from the very first days of the year, while honoring the history, culture, and achievements of Hai Phong and Viet Nam. Through this, it further promoted the image of a modern and dynamic port city, expressing the aspiration and vision for Hai Phong to reach international stature and become an attractive destination.
