Hai Phong – Korea art exchange exhibition held from June 25 to July 1
On the afternoon of June 25, at the Hai Phong Center for Culture, Cinema and Exhibition (No. 1 Nguyen Duc Canh Street, Le Chan Ward), the Hai Phong Union of Literature and Arts Associations and the Hai Phong Fine Arts Association, in collaboration with the Gwangju Branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association, officially opened the Hai Phong – Korea Art Exchange Exhibition.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Vu Khac Lich, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Bui Ngoc Hai, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs; along with representatives of various domestic and international organizations.
The exhibition runs from June 25 to July 1, 2026. It marks the sixth consecutive art exchange exhibition between the two cities and the third exhibition hosted in Hai Phong, celebrating six years of artistic cooperation and exchange between artists from Hai Phong, Vietnam, and Gwangju, South Korea, since 2021.
In his opening remarks, Meritorious Artist Le Nhu Hai, Chairman of the Hai Phong Union of Literature and Arts Associations, stated that the exhibition features more than 120 artworks by painters and sculptors from the Hai Phong Fine Arts Association and the Gwangju Branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association. The exhibition reflects a high level of artistic quality and creativity.
Kim Young Hwa, Chairman of the Gwangju Branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association, noted that the exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of Hai Phong's contemporary art within the broader context of Vietnamese modern art, alongside the artistic achievements of Gwangju. It also serves as a platform to introduce the culture, landscapes, and people of both localities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bui Duy Khanh, Chairman of the Hai Phong Fine Arts Association, described the exhibition as a significant cultural event for the city. It offers art lovers the opportunity to appreciate high-quality works while enabling local artists—especially younger generations—to gain new perspectives on artistic concepts, visual language, and creative techniques from international colleagues, thereby enhancing their professional development.
The exhibition has created a vibrant artistic atmosphere in Hai Phong and is expected to further promote the city's fine arts scene, contributing to Hai Phong's ambition of becoming a leading cultural and artistic center in the Red River Delta region and across Viet Nam.
