Forum promotes ecological agriculture, digital transformation and rural tourism
The Department of Agriculture and Environment, in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, has organized the Agricultural Extension Forum 2026 under the theme "Developing Ecological Agriculture Linked with Digital Transformation and Rural Tourism."
Hai Phong has extensive large-scale agricultural production areas, including 80,000 hectares of rice fields, 29,000 hectares of fruit orchards, 1,700 hectares of organic rice-shrimp farming, around 1,000 hectares of flowers and ornamental plants, and 16 craft villages with OCOP-certified products. These resources provide a solid foundation for developing green, circular and multi-value agricultural production. In recent years, experiential tourism models such as Thanh Ha lychee orchards, Bang La apple gardens, organic rice-shrimp farming and lotus cultivation on low-yield rice land have helped raise product value, create jobs, increase incomes and develop attractive tourist destinations. However, some initiatives remain spontaneous, tourism infrastructure is still underdeveloped, digital transformation in production and product promotion is uneven, and linkages between agriculture and tourism, as well as between businesses, cooperatives and farmers, remain limited. The forum provides an opportunity for government agencies, scientists, businesses, cooperatives and farmers to exchange experience, discuss new policies, showcase effective models, address practical challenges and propose solutions for the sustainable development of ecological agriculture linked with digital transformation and rural tourism.
