At the start of the week, more than 30 members of the Women's Union in Yet Kieu Commune joined a community clean-up campaign, upgrading and planting nearly 200 meters of flower-lined roads. Rows of lantana flowers were planted neatly along both sides of the road. The hardy, low-maintenance plants not only enhance the landscape but also contribute to cleaner, greener and more attractive neighborhoods.

At villages and residential areas, Women's Union members are being guided on waste sorting at source through initiatives such as the "Green House" model and programs promoting the sorting and treatment of organic waste using IMO microbial technology. Plastic bottles, paper and metal cans are collected for recycling, while organic waste is composted into biofertilizer for agricultural production, helping reduce the volume of waste released into the environment.

Flower-lined roads are becoming increasingly vibrant, more "Green Houses" are being developed, and waste sorting at source is becoming a familiar practice in villages and residential areas across the city. Through these small but sustained efforts, Hai Phong's Women's Union is helping spread greener lifestyles and contributing to a cleaner, greener and more livable city.
