Strengthening Cooperation Ties Between Hai Phong And South Korea
On the morning of January 22nd, Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Hai Phong City’s Party Committee, and Head of the Hai Phong National Assembly Delegation received and worked with the delegation of the South Korean Embassy in Vietnam led by Mr. Choi Youngsam - The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Vietnam on his visit to Hai Phong City.

Appreciating the role of the South Korean Ambassador to Vietnam in contributing to a friendly relationship between Korea and Vietnam in general and with Hai Phong City in particular, Hai Phong City’s Party Committee Secretary Le Tien Chau claimed that the city was committed to always accompanying and supporting Korean businesses and investors. Hai Phong wished for LG Group to continue expanding its investment in the city, establishing a Research and Innovation Center in Hai Phong, exchanging experience with the city in developing a Free Trade Zone, calling for Korean businesses to invest in the city’s Southern Economic Zone in such fields as chip manufacturing, semiconductors, and high-tech industry, strengthen cooperation in health service, education, and human resource training; further promote connection and open flight route Hai Phong - Busan (South Korea). Hai Phong City’s Party Committee Secretary believed that the Korean Embassy in Vietnam would continue to carry on its role as a connector to promote exchange and mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, thereby reinforcing the strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea, as well as a profound, practical, and effective friendly and cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese city and South Korean localities.
The Korean Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Choi Youngsam, thanked the city’s Party Committee Secretary for sharing his thoughts and expressed good impressions about his trip to Hai Phong, along with the results of the two sides’ effective bilateral cooperation. He also affirmed that dynamism, capacity, and openness always made Hai Phong the driving force for economic development in North Vietnam. The Ambassador hoped that Hai Phong would continue to support and favor Korean businesses to invest in the city. Regarding the proposals of city leaders, Mr. Ambassador said that Korean investors had made positive assessments of the city's investment environment. He also expressed his willingness to cooperate with Hai Phong City in the fields of education, health, and human resource training in the hope that the city government would continue to pay attention to establishing international schools in the area to fulfill educational and extra-curricular demands of Korean children in the city, contributing to promoting a good cooperative relationship between the two sides./.
