2025 Nui Voi Traditional Festival in An Lao District 
On the evening of February 14, the District Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Lao district solemnly opened the Nui Voi (Elephant Mountain) Traditional Festival for Spring 2025.

 

Attending the opening ceremony of the Festival were comrades: Nguyen Hoang Anh, member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises; Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee; Pham Van Lap, Chairman of the City People's Council; along with comrades of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, leaders of the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, departments, branches, localities and a large number of people.

Through many historical ups and downs, the Nui Voi Festival has been associated with the An Lao’s history of building and developing the district. The festival honors and remembers the national heroes and generations of Lao people who fought to protect and build the land together. It is also an opportunity for An Lao to introduce visitors to the potential of their homeland, of the harmony between the space of the Elephant Mountain Relic and cultural activities imbued with traditional folklore that created the unique beauty of the land and people.

Speaking at the Festival’s opening ceremony, Chairman of An Lao District People's Committee Ha The Vinh emphasized that the An Lao rural area was rich in cultural traditions and revolutionary history, with a system of communal houses, temples and pagodas spreading across 17 communes and towns; as well as 59 ranked relics, including five national relics, one nationally Nui Voi was a fortress protecting of Hai Phong City and is associated with the tradition of fighting to defend the country and regain national independence in the resistance war against the French colonialists and the American imperialists. Important relics such as the temple of General Le Chan, Long Hoa pagoda, and Chi Lai communal house-pagoda also carry within them traces of a glorious historical period, reflecting a part of the Mac dynasty. Nui Voi was ranked by the State as a National Historical Relic in 1962, becoming one of the earliest recognized relics of Hai Phong City. Nowadays, Nui Voi is increasingly affirming its position as an unmissable destination on the tourist map of Hai Phong City and Vietnam.

The traditional festival of Elephant Mountain will take place from February 14 to 16, 2025 (January 17 to 19 of the Lunar year). On this occasion, many unique cultural and artistic activities will be hosted such as cultural exchange, art and folk dancing, Music and dance festivals, cultural residential groups; Camping activities, Youth Union campfire, and other exciting sports activities such as Open Men's Volleyball Tournament, Women's Tug of War Championship, Stick Pushing Competition, folk games such as: human chess, walking on a bamboo bridge, swinging, blindfolded duck catching etc./.
