About 100 delegates representing Korean intellectuals, associations, people's organizations, enterprises and non-governmental organizations operating in Viet Nam attended the meeting. The event is of great significance, demonstrating the attention, recognition and trust of the leaders of the Vietnamese Party and State towards Korean organizations and individuals who have made many positive contributions to people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries. General Secretary To Lam expressed his happiness to meet with close Korean friends who are diplomats and activists in the fields of culture and sports. 

General Secretary To Lam thanked them for their great support and companionship in promoting Vietnam-Korea relation.  He emphasized that Vietnam's development is always partly attributed to the support of Korea. With cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, society and people-to-people exchange, he expressed his hope that the two countries will strengthen cooperation and promote links between the two economies. General Secretary To Lam also said that as a country that has experienced wars, Vietnam deeply understands the meaning of peace, and hoped that the two countries will further tighten cooperation, not only for the peace and stability of each country but also contributing to building a peaceful and stable development region. On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam awarded the Friendship Medal to Mr. Chanh Ho Ick, Chairman of the Association of Koreans who Love Vietnam, for his contributions in the fields of culture, education, economy and people-to-people exchanges, contributing to promoting the friendship and cooperative relationship between the people of Vietnam and Korea.
