Protecting safety of power grid corridor in western Hai Phong
In order to strengthen the protection of the power grid corridor and ensure the safety of the people, the regional power management teams under Hai Phong Power Company have coordinated with local authorities to promote propaganda and mobilize people to properly abide by the regulations on power grid safety corridor, especially raise awareness of using electricity use and preventing flying kites near the power grid corridor.

Kinh Mon regional power management team has taken over 13 medium-voltage lines including more than 307km of medium-voltage lines and 528 transformer stations with 575 transformers. As of July 31, 112 incidents have been recorded in the area, inlcuding 32 incidents were caused by people flying kites in grid safety corridor, accounting for about 30% of the total number of incidents. The areas where people often fly kites are mainly concentrated in Nguyễn Đại Năng, Phạm Sư Mạnh and Trần Liễu wards.
In fact, in many other localities, power- related incidents because of kite flying have seen complicated. Flying kites near high-voltage power grids is potentially dangerous, as it can cause short circuits, explosions, broken wires, directly affecting the power supply to customers and even threatening human life. Hai Phong Power Company also recommends that people do not use conductive materials such as metal wires or tubes to fly kites; absolutely do not climb electric poles or use metal poles to remove kites stuck on the power grid. In case of an incident, it is necessary to immediately contact with the local Electricity Management Team or call Center 19006769 for timely support.
