Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Commander of the Border Guard, requested Hai Phong City's Border Guard to drastically implement measures to prevent and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing, which focused on controlling and strictly managing vehicles, resolutely forbidding fishing vessels that do not meet the conditions to go fishing offshore. He also requested to coordinate closely with all levels, sectors, and maritime law enforcement forces to strengthen propaganda on preventing and combating IUU fishing, strengthen patrols and controls, and remind fishermen to install and operate fishing surveillance devices and not use electric pulses or explosives while fishing, contributing to an early removal of the EC’s yellow card for Vietnam's seafood industry.
