Strengthening Connections and Technology Transfer from Israel in the field as Agriculture and Water Resources in Hai Phong
On the morning of December 25, at Xu Dong Cultural Center, the Hai Phong Center for Innovation and Application of Science and Technology (under the Department of Science and Technology) organized the “Israel Technology Connection Event in Agriculture and Water.”
The event was held with the aim of creating a bridge to promote cooperation and technology transfer between domestic organizations and enterprises and Israeli companies, focusing on key areas of agriculture and water resources, including: high-tech agriculture; water management and optimization solutions; smart and automated irrigation systems; advanced technologies in aquaculture; and modern farm models meeting international standards.
Israel is well known for its smart drip irrigation technology, which enables highly efficient and water-saving agricultural practices. Despite its small territory—much of which consists of deserts and rocky highlands—Israel has achieved remarkable agricultural development thanks to the development and application of breakthrough technologies.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Lê Văn Kiên, Deputy Director of the Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology emphasized that in the context of climate change, water resource shortages, and increasing demands for higher productivity and quality of agricultural products, access to and application of advanced technological solutions—especially from countries with strong expertise such as Israel—are sigificant for the development of modern, smart, and sustainable agriculture in Hai Phong.
Leaders of the Department of Science and Technology expressed their expectation that cooperation with Israeli enterprises will be expanded in the coming time, particularly in the transfer of science and technology and equipment, the development of smart farm models, and the application of advanced water technologies. At the same time, training, pilot projects, and the scaling up of solutions that suited to local conditions will be promoted. The Department committed to creating favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, and resources to ensure effective technology connection and transfer, thereby improving agricultural productivity and quality and contributing to the socio-economic development of Hai Phong.
At the event, representatives were introduced to an overview of Hai Phong’s demand for high-tech applications in agriculture. Participants also listened to Israeli companies present and demonstrate advanced technological solutions in smart irrigation, water management and treatment, aquaculture, high-quality seed production, and sustainable agricultural development. Many outstanding solutions—such as drip irrigation systems, precision irrigation, water treatment technologies, smart farming models, and digital management solutions—attracted strong interest from domestic organizations and enterprises.
Within the framework of the program, direct technology supply–demand connection activities were organized between Vietnamese enterprises and Israeli companies, creating opportunities for exchanges, understanding needs, exploring cooperation and technology transfer opportunities, and moving toward the formation of practical application projects in the near future.
