Indonesian President Pays Visit To VinFast EV Manufacturing Facility In Hai Phong City
During his State visit to Vietnam, on the morning of January 12th, Indonesian President Joko Widodo made a field trip to the VinFast electric vehicle manufacturing complex to learn about the high-end Vietnamese electric cars directly in the Cat Hai district, Hai Phong City. Earlier in Hanoi, President Joko Widodo and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had conducted a meeting with partners in production and business activities from both countries, including VinFast and Green and Smart Moving (GSM) Joint Stock Company.
Chairman of Vingroup and CEO of VinFast Global Pham Nhat Vuong introduced the electric car factory at VinFast's world-leading modern factory complex to the President of Indonesia. President Joko Widodo expressed his joy while visiting the factory and was impressed with the quality of VinFast cars, claiming he would assist VinFast in completing its production and business investment procedures in the Indonesian market rapidly.
According to the announced plan, VinFast is expected to make a long-term investment of 1.2 billion USD minimum in Indonesia. Apart from distributing imported cars from Vietnam in the first phase, VinFast will build a 200-million-USD EV factory in Indonesia with an expected annual production capacity of 30,000 - 50,000 vehicles./.
