Currently, Bach Long Vy district has more than 60 projects and works in construction, the majority of which aim to create practical socio-economic effects attached to the implementation of national defense measures and security missions. Notably, the district has put into use the logistics service center, as well as the portal terminals for ships passengers, and cargoes on the Hai Phong - Bach Long Vy route (with one end at Hoa Dong commune, Thuy Nguyen district). The project’s investment capital is valued at nearly 50 billion VND of the state budget. This project has facilitated traveling and cargo transporting between the island and the city’s mainland in a more proactive and convenient way. Recently, the first ship ever to carry a delegation from the mainland to the remote island has anchored at the port.

There are various means of transport traveling to Bach Long Vy island, one of which, the Hoa Phuong Do ship, operated since July 2020, has the largest transport capacity. With a capacity of 200 passengers and 50 tons of cargo, the Hoa Phuong Do ship has essentially met the requirements of extent for the army and people in the island district. It can be affirmed that the city's investment in the construction of transport infrastructure will make an important contribution to helping Bach Long Vy quickly become a logistics center for fisheries as well as search-and-rescue operations in the northern region.
