Cat Bi International Airport currently operates domestic routes to Ho Chi Minh City; Da Nang, Cam Ranh and Phu Quoc; Buon Ma Thuot; Can Tho; and Da Lat, as well as four international routes to localities in South Korea, China and elsewhere. Expanding operations with more new routes is one of the solutions to increase the number of tourists travelling by air.

Under the master plan for Cat Bi International Airport for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, which the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam is submitting to the Ministry of Transport for consideration, during 2021-2030, Cat Bi International Airport is expected to have an annual capacity of 13 million passengers and a total of 30 aircraft parking positions. The T2 passenger terminal project at Cat Bi International Airport, with a total investment of nearly VND2.7 trillion from the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, has entered the final construction phase. Once completed, the project will not only increase handling capacity but also enable more domestic and international routes to and from Hai Phong./.
