Attending the celebration were leaders representing city departments, departments and branches; leaders, former leaders of relevant localities; representatives of the Mac Family Council, Mac families from many localities across the country and a large number of people in the city.

At the celebration, the delegates and the people were moved to listen to Comrade Pham Van Dinh, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Commune People's Council present a speech commemorating the 485th anniversary of the death of Thai ancestor Mac Dang Dung; Comrade Le Huu Toan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Commune People's Council performed the opening drum ceremony; followed by the festival drum, the festival flag with a bustling atmosphere was the solemn performance of the memorial wish. Closing the ceremony, delegations and tourists from all over the world respectfully offered incense to commemorate Thai ancestor Mac Dang Dung.

Within the framework of the celebration from 1/10 to 3/10 (i.e. 21 to 23/8 in the year of the Horse), there is also a ceremony to offer the tray to the King, the ceremony of obituary, and the thanksgiving ceremony; and cultural, artistic, physical training and sports programs such as: the exchange program of folk dance clubs "Kien Hung Dance"; exchange and praise program "Example of Hung Initiative"; folk cultural activities: tug of war, pushing sticks, smashing pots...; art exchange program "Echo of Duong Kinh, radiant Kien Hung".

The celebration is a political and cultural event to review and honor the career and great contributions of Mac Thai To and the Mac Dynasty in the history of the nation. Through the Celebration, the Party Committee and the government of Kien Hung commune wish to remind today's descendants to always know how to look back to their roots, respect historical values, and be grateful to their predecessors who have made great contributions to the establishment of Giang Son and the country; thereby promoting the spirit of dedication and aspiration to build the homeland in the era of the nation's rise.

Thai ancestor Mac Dang Dung was born in 1483, hometown in Co Trai village, the ancient land of Nghi Duong. In the context of many social fluctuations, Mac Dang Dung gradually gathered forces, held military power and in 1527 ascended the throne of the Emperor, taking the title Minh Duc, opening the Mac Dynasty. In 1529, he ceded the throne to his eldest son, Mac Dang Doanh, namely Mac Thai Tong, retired as the Crown Prince and focused on building Duong Kinh, the second capital in his homeland. From here, the land of Co Trai - Duong Kinh is not only the homeland of a dynasty but also becomes a political and economic center; is the first sea-facing capital of Dai Viet.

The Mac dynasty reigned in Thang Long for 65 years, from 1527 to 1592, going through 5 kings: Mac Dang Dung, Mac Dang Doanh, Mac Phuc Hai, Mac Phuc Nguyen and Mac Mau Hop. If you include the period when the Mac dynasty continued to exist in Cao Bang after 1592, the history of the Mac dynasty lasted 150 years.

In 65 years as a unified dynasty in the capital city of Thang Long, the Mac Dynasty has built a prosperous dynasty with many progressive ideas and ways of doing things in many fields: economy, social culture, diplomacy... Under the reign of the Mac kings, the fields were cleared, new villages were established; developed handicrafts such as: Bat Trang ceramics, Chu Dau ceramics; the sixteenth century was also a period of brilliant development of blue flower pottery; along with that, trade has developed strongly with the formation of typical riverside and coastal trading ports such as: Pho Hien, Duong Kinh, port towns in Tien Lang, Hai Phong, Tran Son Nam Ha in Nam Dinh, Thai Binh... or places that always exist in the subconscious of many people such as Nha Mac street, Nha Mac lagoon...

Those 65 years were a period of temporary calm, the people enjoyed a peaceful and peaceful life; Buddhism was restored and developed; the faculty is taken seriously. Coming from a table department under the Mac dynasty, there were many famous figures such as: Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem, Giap Hai, Ha Nham Dai, Hoang Si Khai...
