With a coastline of 125 km, Hai Phong City has many potentials and advantages for developing aquaculture in freshwater, brackish, and saltwater environments. Over the past years, localities have promoted aquaculture and applied technical advances to the production process, thereby bringing high economic efficiency based on these advantages. Besides the fisheries sector, in the livestock sector, the application of advanced science and technology is also a highlight, such as breeding chickens using automation technology and biosafety pig farming, helping nourish the livestock.  

Science and technology play an increasingly important role in improving productivity, product quality, and economic efficiency in agricultural production. Scientific and technological research have contributed over 30% of added value to current agricultural production.

Determining the development of science, technology, and innovation is an important task that creates a foundation and driving force for ecological agriculture and modern rural development. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development sets a target for results in scientific and professional tasks with products such as seeds, input materials, technological processes, equipment, and technical advances applied into reality to reach more than 90% by 2025, over 95% by 2030, with at least 60% of research results concerning production./.
