After a period of urgent construction, the Dong Bai – Cai Vieng ferry expansion and auxiliary works have basically completed. 
At Cai Vieng ferry, the contractor has completed the construction of the new expanded ferry and put it into use since the end of October. The dredging item is expected to be completed this month. At Dong Bai ferry, the approach road to the ferry and the infrastructure have basically been completed. The waiting room is expected to be completed before November 20. With a total investment of nearly 100 billion VND, the Dong Bai – Cai Vieng ferry terminal expansion project includes items such as expanding the ferry access road, building an average asphalt concrete road of 12m wide and upgrading the entire old ferry. Once completed and put into use, the project will contribute to not only improving the capacity of transporting passengers and vehicles to Cat Ba archipelago - a World Natural Heritage, but also limiting traffic congestion at both ends of the ferry.
