Music and Dance Program “A Mother’s Dream” – Honoring the Power of Compassion and Awakening Human Conscience
On the afternoon of November 4, at the City Theater, the Hai phong City Arts Council appraised the music and dance program “A Mother’s Dream”, part of the artistic series “For a Drug-Free City.”

Aiming to further promote the collective political and public strength in controlling, preventing, and pushing back against drug-related crime and social evils—according to Resolution No. 18-NQ/TU dated February 26, 2025, of the 16th Hai Phong Party Executive Committee, term 2020–2025, on “Building Hai phong into a Drug-Free City”—the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has directed the city’s professional art units to create and perform art programs under the theme “For a Drug-Free City.”
Through forms such as music, dance, and puppetry, these works affirm the role of art in communication, education, and moral transformation, aiming toward a civilized, modern, and drug-free Hai Phong.
The artistic program includes two parts: the music and dance performance “A Mother’s Dream” and the puppet play “The Shadow of Sin.”
They will be performed at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Hai phong Grand Theater, 28 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hong Bang Ward, Haiphong City.
The performances combined artistic expression with profound social messages, aiming to raise public awareness about the dangers of drugs while honoring human affection, maternal love, and the power of compassion that can lead people back to an honest, moral life.
The music and dance program “A Mother’s Dream”, produced by the Hai Phong Contemporary Arts Theater, depicted the image of a mother whose simple dream is to have her peaceful family, and her wayward child  returned home to rebuild his life.
The work conveyed a deeply humanistic message: through family love, community support, and government guidance, those who have gone astray can return to a peaceful life, start anew, and continued the journey of faith and hope.
During the appraisal session, members of the City Arts Council provided comments and suggestions for the production team to refine the performance before its premiere and future tours for the people of Hai Phong.
