Building an ecological agricultural model
In the transformation process to become an urban area, An Duong ward still preserves and promotes its agricultural strengths. In particular, building an agricultural model associated with eco-tourism has opened up a new direction, both developing the local economy and preserving the rural identities.
In recent years, Mr. Nguyen Van Vinh's family is one of the first farmers i to successfully plant Japanese cherry blossoms in An Duong land. From only 300 trees initially more than 10 years ago, his family has now developed about 7,000 seedlings to provide other famers in the city and localities. His garden also attracts a large number of visitors and customers at year-end occasion, creating sight-seeing space for many people to enjoy the cherry blossoms right in their homeland instead of having to spend a lot of money to go to Japan to see these flowers.
Not only stopping at commodity agricultural production, many households and cooperatives in An Duong ward have boldly developed ecological agricultural models. Clean agricultural products, environmentally friendly growing processes are combined with experiential tourism exploitation to attract more and more tourists. According to the plan, An Duong ward focuses on developing ecological agriculture - which is not only a solution to increase economic value, but is also a sustainable step towards the goal of building a green, environmentally friendly and livable urban area./.
