According to the proposal, the Vietnam Railways Corporation proposed to establish a project to renovate and repair Hanoi station (Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City railway line), Hai Phong station (Gia Lam - Hai Phong railway line), and the building. Da Lat station (Đà Lạt-Trại Mát railway line) to renovate stations with historical and cultural value, ensure construction safety, and preserve valuable architectural works of the road. The project has a total estimated investment of 150 billion VND, using medium-term public investment capital for the 2026-2031 period. The Railway Department also proposed to allocate about 3 billion VND from non-business economic funding sources for railway activities to inspect and evaluate the quality of works to have suitable proposals for renovation repair plans. According to Vietnam Railways Corporation, all three stations, which were built during the French colonial period with many historical and cultural values are currently downgraded, affecting community safety. In particular, Hai Phong station has several damages that in the long term will affect the load-bearing structure and longevity of the project, so repairs are needed. In addition, the steel beam system in the brick floor structure is corroded, in particular, one beam has corroded up to 25% of its cross-section. According to Vietnam Railways Corporation, although the current deterioration of Hai Phong Station does not pose a threat to construction safety, it is necessary to renovate and repair the station soon to preserve its vintage architecture, contributing to extending the duration of the project./.
