Mr. Le Tien Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the city's National Assembly Delegation, attended the ceremony along with Mr. Dao Trong Duc, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; Mr. Bui Duc Quang, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council and other representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, localities and units.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Health Le Minh Quang said: After more than 70 years of construction and development, Hai Phong's health network has grown significantly in both quantity and quality. In the public health sector, the city currently has nine city-level hospitals; five district and city general hospitals; 11 district and city health centers with beds; four district city health centers without beds; 167 commune, ward, and town-level health stations; and seven city-level specialized health centers. The city's private health system has 11 hospitals, 28 general clinics, and 988 specialized clinics. The total number of hospital beds in the city is 9,661, reaching a rate of 45.9 beds/10,000 people.

With an increasingly complete and developed health system, Hai Phong has constantly improved the quality of medical examination and treatment, meeting the health care needs of the people, contributing to the city's overall development. In the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hai Phong Health Sector has focused on implementing the "dual task", both focusing on epidemic prevention and control, and socio-economic development, thereby achieving many outstanding achievements, thus turning Hai Phong's  Health sector into On behalf of the city's leaders, Comrade Le Tien Chau, Secretary of the City Party Committee, praised the great efforts and contributions of the city's health sector, and requested leaders, officers and employees of the health sector to: Focus on performing the task of taking care of people's health, public health, and building a healthy and high-quality human resource to serve the development of the city; Effectively implement the Project to Improve the Capacity of the City's Public Health System to consolidate and improve the quality of the grassroots health system, contributing to alleviating the pressure on the upper-level hospital system and the medical staff at these hospitals. The entire health sector must identify the task of improving the quality and service attitude in medical examination and treatment as the core task of the entire city's health system.

On the occasion, ten individuals were awarded the title of "Excellent Physician"; the city's Eye Hospital received the Government's Emulation Flag; the Director of the Department of Health received a Certificate of Merit from the Government; the Department of Health was presented with a banner by the City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee with the content "Reaching out for development for the cause of protecting and caring for people's health". Many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements were also awarded Certificates of Merit, the title of Excellent Labor Collective, Emulation Fighter by the City People's Committee, the Ministry of Health, and the City Department of Health./.
