Do Son Recognized As Provincial-Level Tourist Area
On the afternoon of December 27th, the Do Son District Peoples Committee held a conference announcing the Decision of the city Peoples Committee to recognize Do Son as a provincial-level tourist area and to review the state management of tourism in 2024, as well as to implement the directions and tasks for 2025.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee, congratulated Do Son on becoming the first tourism area in the city to be recognized as a provincial-level tourist area. In 2024, Do Son District attracted 4.3 million visitors, an increase of 50.6% compared to the same period last year. The revenue from accommodation and dining services in Do Son is estimated to reach 3,210 billion VND, a 21.13% increase compared to the previous year. Emphasizing that 2025 will be a year with many important national and city events, the Vice Chairman urged the district to proactively organize cultural, artistic, and sports activities to celebrate and welcome these significant occasions. At the same time, the district needs to continue requesting the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to adjust some regulations to suit the traditional Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival. Furthermore, important cultural and historical sites of the district, particularly those related to the national resistance against foreign invaders, should be restored and preserved. For 2025, Do Son District has chosen the theme “Four-Season Tourism," aiming to attract 5 million visitors and generate 3,800 billion VND in revenue from accommodation and dining services./.
