Cat Hai District Strives For 4 Million Visitors In 2025
In 2024, the total number of tourists to Hai Phong City is estimated to reach 9.15 million, completing the annual target, making an active contribution to the city’s tourism results, especially the growth and breakthrough of Cat Ba tourism with the reception and service of nearly 3.7 million visitors, accounting for about 40% of the total number of visitors to Hai Phong City.
This year, the total number of visitors to Cat Ba’s tourist area reached 3,675,000, an increase of over 20% compared to 2023. Not only completing the target of welcoming 3.6 million visitors before the year ends, Cat Hai district's tourism also made its mark with first-time international visitors reaching over 1 million and the number of visitors visiting and staying overnight on the bays of Cat Ba archipelago also exceeding 1 million.
The outstanding results in the number of visitors in 2024 are an important basis for Cat Hai district to be determined to set a target of welcoming 4 million visitors next year. In addition, the district also diversifies and improves the quality and effectiveness of Cat Ba tourism promotion and communication associating the area with the World Natural Heritage title; focusing on completing infrastructure to implement activities in Cat Ba Night Street and completing the dossier to propose recognizing Cat Ba archipelago as a National Tourist Area, contributing to building a professional, civilized, friendly and attractive tourism environment for visitors./.
