Singapore Businesses Hope To Invest Further In Hai Phong City
Singapore has always been known for its digital government, urban management, smart urban construction, education, and real estate businesses. These are also fields that Hai Phong City has the potential to develop and attract investment.
Recently, a delegation from the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) led by Ms. Amy Wee, Director of SBF in Vietnam, met with the Hai Phong City People's Committee to discuss opportunities to expand cooperation and invest with the city in many fields. The Singaporean delegation expressed an interest in strengthening cooperation with Vietnamese partners in general and Hai Phong City in particular on digital economy and innovation, infrastructure development, energy, sustainable development, commercial investment, finance, transportation, and tourism. In addition, representatives from a number of Singaporean businesses also shared their desire to explore business and investment opportunities in fields like healthcare, consumer goods, restaurant services, interior design, etc.
As of September 2023, Hai Phong City had 63 investment projects from Singaporean investors with a total investment capital of nearly 2.8 billion USD, of which investment in industrial parks and economic zones reached 2.6 billion USD. Notably, VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park is invested by Vietnam - Singapore Urban and Industrial Park Development Joint Stock Company with an investment capital of about 1 billion USD. With a total area of 1,567 hectares, VSIP Hai Phong reaches an occupancy rate of about 95% of the cleared land area./.
